Join us for a fun demonstration about what makes rockets "go." We will make and decorate our own film canister rockets, powered by Alka Seltzer tablets and water, and then launch them on the playfield.
This is the first in a series of workshops we are planning which will lead up to the building and launch of more advanced model rockets. Materials will be provided, but you may want to bring a sack lunch. Space is limited, so please rsvp to: seattlegeekscouts@gmail
Suggested donation $5/per kid.
Solve the mystery of electronic components by dissecting (and destroying) old devices. Rusty Oliver of All Metal Arts will lead the class as we use hand-tools to disassemble a variety of electronics, identify the parts and learn what they do.
We will use this process of discovery to explain key concepts of electrical devices and develop a deeper understanding of how they work.
All tools and required safety equipment will be supplied.
Class will be held inside a commercial art/metalworking studio. We will spend part of the class introducing the more interesting tools, including a cnc plasma cutter and cnc router and a demonstration of mig and tig welding.
Workshop price is $52 per child, with two parents included.
Pre-registration is required. Click here for more information and to register on Eventbrite.
