Hacker Scouts and Geek Scouts Unite!

We are excited to announce that the Geek Scouts has joined forces with the Hacker Scouts, based in Oakland, California and we are now Hacker Scout Guild 004. The Hacker Scouts have the same vision and values as the Geek Scouts, and they have put together a fantastic program that we can follow and adapt to our own interests and needs.

You can find more information on our blog under the main Hacker Scout site, where we will post information.

We will be starting the program with bi-monthly Open Labs on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month from 12:00 - 2:00, at Metrix Create:Space in Seattle, beginning March 24th.

By the end of the year, we plan on adding the Hacker Scouts Guild Program and activities.

We will be posting more specific information about what projects we are planning to do in advance of each Open Lab our Hacker Scouts, so you will have a chance to see what options are available.

The Open Lab is free of charge to attend and kids must have at least one parent present. There will be material fees to cover costs of projects, but we will be keeping the cost as low as possible.

You are also welcome to bring your own projects to the Open Lab and get advice and help from experienced mentors. We are asking for a suggested donation of $10 to cover the cost of the space. This is optional, so if you can’t afford it--no worries, and if you can afford more, 100% of the donations will go to cover our expenses.

We look forward to seeing you there!
